In 1986 I caught the racing bug after a stop at a family friend's race shop. Little did I know some 20 years later with the help of the same family friend I would be continuing a winning tradition started by that man. For those that did not have the pleasure of knowing Bobby Smith (Smitty Powered) he put together some of the fastest if not the fastest briggs engines in karting.
Fast forward to 2002. It was Andy Smith (Bobby's son) that set me up with the tooling it would take to continue on with the winning tradition of building fast briggs engines. Through this great gesture of kindness DART POWER racing engines was established. It did not take long claiming our first feature win at Shippensburg Speedway that summer. From there we have claimed wins from the smallest to the largest tracks here in Pennsylvania (Motorama, Silver Spring Speedway) , to WKA divisional state races. While we like to concentrate on the weekend racer we have proven that we can run with the big dogs.
It's our mission to provide the horsepower for anyone to win anywhere at anytime....
